Canning Season Starts

I've been stocking up on canning jars.  I've bought some new ones, and some new lids for old ones.  I did buy a couple of boxes of old mason jars with galvanized rings from a guy on Kijiji.  (A little bit of a rip off as I realized when I got home that they had removed some of the "better" jars from the boxes).  I then went on a hunt for the red rubber rings so I could use them for putting down tomatoes and peaches.  I finally found them yesterday at Canadian Tire and got 2 dozen.  I'm glad I did as I was able to get a bunch more jars today from a very nice lady on Kijiji.  Lorraine even delivered them (with broken fingers) and it only cost $10!  What a deal...

Of course, some jars will become just decorative or storage.  Stay tuned to see what canning I do this fall...
