White Collection for my Bedroom

I am joining Brenda for Tweak It Tuesday.  These are some pieces that will go into my bedroom when I redecorate it.  This maybe doesn't qualify as a tweak so much as an overhaul but here goes.

Well, I have decided to decorate my bedroom in white with what I call "Easter Egg" colours as accents.  These are some of things I have gathered in addition to a white comforter and the lovely blue cushion I have already posted.  I'm going to take a deep breath and start painting next week.

This is a cushion I bought at Ikea.  I have an old dusty pink wing back chair that I am thinking about trying to paint.  Or maybe I'll slipcover it.....

These are some lovely picture frames that I bought at Homesense before Christmas.  I didn't buy them for any particular reason.  They just jumped into my cart, haha...

I know it's really hard to tell from this picture what my "whites" are.  It is sooo difficult to pick white paint.  There are a gazillion shades of white that don't look all that different in the store.  I narrowed it down to a dozen to bring home and then we voted 9 of them off the island.  I was left with these and thought initially I would use Billowy Clouds for the walls, Snow Fall for the trim and Swiss Coffee for the furniture.  But....then I took the samples downstairs and wow, Billowy Clouds looked PINK.  Not what I wanted at all.  So Snow Fall is walls and Swiss Coffee is for the trim and furniture.  I got the paint...no turning back now.

The lovely lilac fabric is 2 European shams that I dug out of the Fabricland clearance bin $5 each.  The white are heavy damask curtains that I bought at Ikea for my closet.

This cute little bunny was something I couldn't resist.  It will definitely find a home in my bedroom with my mink teddy bear.  I will have to do a post on the great store where I bought bunny.  Fabulous stuff and bunny was only $10.

Here's another view of my closet curtains.

This lovely piece is the curtain that will hang on the window.  Another bargain from Fabricland $8.  It is a creamy sheer with this pretty lacy bottom.  I can't wait to hang it!

The white eyelet bed skirt to go with my white comforter.

And last but certainly not least, an icy blue coverlet for the bed.  Under the comforter or folded across the foot of the bed, hmmmm?

Thanks for visiting,

Julie

  1. Hi Julie,
I like the sounds of your makeover! The textiles, colours & accessories are going to be beautiful.
I have some of those pesky frames from Homesense too, the same thing happened to me, but 3 black picture frames jumped into my cart ;0)
They are so nice, I have yet to use mine as well...soon though.
    Have a great day today!
    All the Best,
    Christine

  6. Everything looks wonderful. Your bedroom will be lovely. I especially like the photo frames as I've seen them in HomeSense as well (even though I got away before they jumped into my cart!). The pillow from Ikea is pretty as is the first one you showed us. I'm looking forward to seeing the "after" photos.

  8. Hi Julie! I love your colors! We're going to be doing our bedroom over, too, and I already have a pale blue coverlet for the bed, but most everything else will be shades of white. I like the idea of folding the coverlet at the bottom of the bed for a little pop of color!

Our snow is already melting - I swear it feels like it's in the 60's here today. Our doggie will be happy as he's got short legs and it's not easy for him to navigate through deep snow! haha

    Have a great weekend!
